Musical Soirée at The Savage Club

Format for the evening
ARRIVAL: 6:00 pm to enjoy a welcome refreshment and canapés.  
PERFORMANCE: Commence at 6.30 pm and will last around 60 minutes.
SEATING: Unreserved in the relaxed ambience and salon style of the Savage Club.  
POST PERFORMANCE: guests are invited to enjoy wine, beer, juice or soft drinks along with canapés and meet Peter Hurley. The evening will conclude around 8:30 pm.



Peter performs regularly around Australia in many different guises.  He has performed for the A.B.C., with the State Orchestra of Victoria, as a classical musician with pianist the late Nehama Patkin, and with children¹s entertainer Franciscus Henri. He has been a frequent performer at Chapel Off Chapel and a regular in the Melbourne Comedy Festival, Fringe Festival and Midsumma Festival. His involvement with Cabaret goes back to such venues as Mietta’s and the Athenaeum. He established jazz in the venue now known as ‘Bennett's Lane’ in the early 1980s. Peter is also an academic currently lecturing in Aural Studies and Musicology – Music Theatre and Cabaret at the University of Melbourne. In recent years Peter has been working regularly with
Opera Australia principal Suzanne Johnston and Judi Connelli AM.

Time magazine once summed up Noel Coward by saying he had "a sense of personal style, a combination of cheek and chic, pose and poise". But he was so much more - he was also a remarkable and prolific composer, playwright, director, actor and singer.
